Fall Out Boy | Milwaukee, WI
Fall Out Boy brought the So Much For (2our) Dust tour to Milwaukee, WI on April 2nd alongside Jimmy Eat World, Hot Mulligan, and CARR. Milwaukee was the first city the band had ever played outside of Chicago, and is home to their drummer Andy Hurley, which led to the sold-out Fiserv Forum feeling like nothing short of a huge celebration all night.
Similar to other tours we’ve seen in the last year, this Fall Out Boy tour spans across the full timeline of their careers and feels like a massive celebration of their music and fans. With stage designs that look like they could be straight out of the mind of Tim Burton, there isn’t a single dull moment in the set.
The band kept fans on their toes on this run with a rotating setlist, which gave Milwaukee fan favorites like “Tell That Mick He Just Made My List Of Things To Do Today” and “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More ‘Touch Me.’”
Towards the middle of the set, Patrick Stump had a small solo section where he wished his father a happy birthday before sitting down at the piano and talking about the loss of his friend, Casey Benjamin, who played in Stump’s live band during Fall Out Boy’s hiatus. Patrick shared an emotional tribute to him, partially including playing a portion of “Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia)” from Stump’s solo album, sharing that Casey had always wanted to play it and he regrets that they never got to do that together. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room at this point as Patrick broke down crying at the piano and Andy came out to hug him.
Picking things back up, Fall Out Boy went into another stretch of songs with Patrick on the piano, this time with the rest of the band back on the stage with him ans a Magic 8 Ball on the screen above them. Pete asked it a few questions about if they should call it a night before it answered “no” and they played “Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save The Scene and Stop Going to Shows).” After finishing the song, Pete went back to the 8 Ball and asked it a few more questions, including if they should “play a unicorn, to which the answer was “yes,” and Fall Out Boy then went into “Pavlove,” which was also only the second time the song had been played ever.
They closed the night out with a string of hits that had the grandstands shaking from everybody dancing.
